To operate our service we use the following third-party providers who may process your data:
| Provider | Role | Data shared | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | AI model provider — processes your CV and chat queries to generate responses | CV text, job descriptions, chat messages | anthropic.com/privacy ↗ |
| Netlify | Website hosting and serverless functions | Server logs, request metadata | netlify.com/privacy ↗ |
| Email provider | Newsletter delivery (e.g. Mailchimp / ConvertKit) | Email address, first name | Per your chosen provider's policy |
We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling. We select sub-processors that provide appropriate data protection guarantees.
However, please be aware that Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy, which governs how they handle API inputs. We recommend reviewing Anthropic's privacy policy and their API data usage terms if you have concerns about AI processing of your personal data.
You should avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal data in your CV submission — such as your full home address, national insurance number, date of birth, or medical information — beyond what is relevant to your professional profile.
If you subscribe to The Grid weekly intelligence briefing, we collect your email address and first name. This data is:
— Stored with our email service provider for the sole purpose of sending the newsletter
— Never shared with or sold to third parties
— Retained until you unsubscribe, at which point it is deleted from our active lists
— Subject to an opt-in at the point of collection — we do not add you without your explicit consent
Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. You can also request deletion at any time by emailing hello@thegridcareers.co.uk.
This website uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. The only cookies set are:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription status | Remembers whether you have subscribed, to unlock full access locally in your browser | 365 days (localStorage, not a cookie) |
| Session state | Maintains your chat session within a single visit | Session only — cleared when you close the tab |
Because we do not use tracking or advertising cookies, a cookie consent banner is not required under the UK PECR rules that apply to our current setup. If this changes, we will update this policy and add appropriate consent mechanisms.
As a data subject under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@thegridcareers.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. Note that for CV data, we have no stored records to action — this is by design.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
— All data transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit)
— No personal data stored in our own databases
— Third-party providers selected for their security standards
— No access to CV data after the request cycle completes
No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. If you become aware of a security concern related to our service, please contact us immediately at hello@thegridcareers.co.uk.
Anthropic is a US-based company. When your CV text is sent to their API for processing, it may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Anthropic maintains appropriate safeguards for such transfers. Please review Anthropic's privacy policy for details of their international data transfer mechanisms.
Your newsletter data is stored with our email provider. If that provider is based outside the UK, we ensure appropriate transfer safeguards are in place.
This service is intended for professionals and individuals aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated via the website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
